EVENT SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Unless otherwise stated as part of the Event, the following Event Special Terms and Conditions apply to all events presented sponsored by Forum Makers ( “Forum Makers” or the “Company”), Forum Makers-affiliated events, and any other related events or social gatherings (“Events”). By registering for and/or attending such an Event, you agree to comply with these Event Special Terms and Conditions. These Event Special Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.

Free Exchange of Ideas Without Attribution or Record

A goal of Forum Makers Events is to encourage the respectful exchange of ideas in an effort to create a more secure world. We believe that, for such exchanges to be truly effective, speakers (i.e., anyone expressing an idea, asking a question, etc.) should be free to ask questions or express ideas that might be considered “basic”, “simplistic”, or even “unpopular” without fear of attribution or retribution, and without concern that the individual’s ideas or questions will be attributed to their employer or another organization with which they are affiliated.

Therefore, unless otherwise specifically stated, all Forum Makers-sponsored and Forum Makers-affiliated events and any associated educational or instructional sessions are governed by the “Chatham House Rule” and off the record. That is, “When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any participant, may be revealed.” Furthermore, no portion of the discussion can be referenced in any online blog, newspaper, social media post(s), podcast, or other form without the express consent of the person making the statement.

Violation of these terms is a violation of the Event Code of Conduct and may result in disciplinary action including, without limitation, removal from the Event without refund of any fees, banning from future Events, and any other actions that are available to Forum Makers.

Event Tools

Forum Makers may make available to you a mobile app, website, or other online or offline tool(s) to assist you with participating in an Event (e.g., so you can track the sessions for which you have registered, to view sessions, or to chat with other attendees) (referred to as the “Tool”).

To allow the Tool to function properly, Forum Makers may need to share your personal data with the Tool provider. Forum Makers makes no representation or warranty (whether express or implied, oral or written) that any Tool, whether alone or in combination with your internet connection, will operate uninterrupted or error-free. Forum Makers further cannot and does not guarantee that traffic transmitted over the Internet is or can be rendered impenetrably secure.

After you have been granted access to such a Tool, the Tool may collect and store information about you. The personal data collected through the Tool may include information like your name, email address, company, title, location, and phone number (“Personal Information”). The Tool may use this Personal Information to set up your account or allow administration and communication with you regarding your registration. The Tool may also use your E-mail address to send updates and to provide support in connection with Forum Makers or Tool website(s) or related services.

You agree that you will not display, post, upload, store, exchange or transmit any sensitive information on or through such Tool. For the purposes of these Event Special Terms and Conditions, such “sensitive information” includes, but is not limited to, any person’s date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, other government-issued identification number, financial account number, credit or debit card number, insurance ID or account number, health or medical information, consumer reports, background checks, biometric data, digital signatures, any code or password that could be used to gain access to financial resources, or any other unique identifier of registrant or any other individual (“Sensitive Personal Information”).

Forum Makers, any Event sponsors, any Tool provider, and any third party will never be liable to you or another individual for any loss or damages you or any other individual may experience due to your displaying, posting, uploading, storing, exchanging or transmitting on or through the Tool any Sensitive Personal Information about yourself or any third party.
